Martin Desjarlais
Born into a musical family, Martin Desjarlais is a proud Metis man from Manitoba. His first step into the world of music came at 12-years-old when he discovered he had a knack for the drums. From there he spent most of his teenage years playing lead snare drum in renowned cadet pipe bands and strummed his guitar every chance he could.
As he entered his twenties, Desjarlais began marching to the beat of his own drum discovering he also had a voice that needed to be heard. A fan of classic country music, he fell naturally into that genre and won first place at the long running 2009 Westbrook Inn “Star Search” talent competition. He’s gone on to enter a handful of talent shows around Manitoba including the 2012 NCI Jam.
Now in his thirties, Desjarlais is a proud husband and father to his 3 sons, and has relocated with his Family to Calgary, AB.

Under the Rocks
Hailing from Kelowna, Canada, Under the Rocks has emerged from a city with no other bluegrass acts to become one of Canada’s premier bluegrass bands. Featuring acoustic guitar (Jordan Klassen), fiddle (Chloe Davidson), banjo and mandolin (Chris Baxter), and upright bass (Nils Loewen) the band makes a big sound that tips its cap to tradition while incorporating singer-songwriter music intentionally put together with clever, inventive song arrangements, emotive instrumental breaks and powerful vocal harmony. Their shows commonly feature dancing, laughter, joyful hoots and hollers and serene moments accompanied by tears and tranquil sighs of release or appreciation. They are a heartfelt, talented string quartet that blends uplifting energy with a reflective reverence for the difficulties of reality that marries joy and sorrow and declares “YES”. Yes to all that it means to be alive on this planet, here and now.

Joule Tallman & Riley Tubbs
Together they share a love for clever lyrics, bouncing bass lines, sweet harmonies and ballads, and endeavour to bring a smile to your face and feeling to your soul with a spattering of traditional and original tunes, well seasoned with samplings of lesser known artists in the indie-roots-Americana-folk-blues-bluegrass genres.
